1. Keep your feet slow. Timing is everything and it all starts with foot work and balance. If you continue to miss your mark to the right (for right handed bowler) odds are your feet are too fast. Balance at the foul line is a must for any hope of being consistent.

2. Keep your shoulders square and level. Dropping your shoulder will result in pulling the ball inside of your mark typically. Your shoulder and hips should remain square with your target on the lane.

3. Keep your eyes on your target/mark (arrows, dots, etc.) Never lift your eyes up until you see your ball roll over your mark.

4. Keep your elbow in so that it barely brushes your shirt. Don't get your elbow out and show your chicken wing.

5. Bend your knee. The lower you can get, the more balanced you are.

6. Follow through! Reach for you mark while releasing the ball.

7. Keep your thumb hole as tight as possible. The tighter your thumb fits, the more accurate you will be. Don't let your thumb swim in the hole.

8. Spares is the key to bowling. You can throw 7 strikes in a game and still only score 175. Pick up a few spares and it's a 200 easy.

9. Getting mad doesn't help. It can be a frustrating game, but once you have the mechanics down, it becomes more of a mental game. So take it easy and don't distract other bowlers around you.

10. Practice, Practice, Practice. Good bowlers don't whine, they adjust. If you have the time to practice you need to make the most of it and learn how to play different areas of the lane and adjust to the lane conditions.
