Joan Huggins

Joan has been a bowler in Jasper County since 1954. Her outstanding contribution to bowling in the Newton and Jasper County area was recognized by the Jasper County Men's Bowling Association in 2002. Joan has been the league secretary of the Sunday Night Mixed League at Center Lanes since 1966, and has volunteered more than her fair share of time to help support the Jasper County Bowling Association in numerous ways. Scorekeeping for the county tournament, recruiting scorekeepers, checking in bowlers during the tournaments, and has helped with the duties of association secretary at times. She has encouraged people to bowl and has helped to track down customers for local proprietors. Joan was one of the founding members of the Jasper County Junior Bowling Association, along with Lee Troen and Randy Simpson. Joan is a member of the Jasper County Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame. These are just a few items of a long list of contributions Joan has made to the game of bowling in Jasper County.
