MEETING NOTES;
AMES AREA USBC
Vice President Bryan Carsrud
called the
meeting to order at 8:45 a.m.
Roll call of officers and
directors
were taken. Present were 2nd VP Bryan Carsrud, 3rd
VP Terri Loneman, Story City VP Jake Jacobson, Nevada VP Cheryl
Devore, Ames VP Cari McPartland. Directors present were Tim Kadolph,
Deb Robinson, Terri Carriere, Katie Banks, Jo Mortvedt, Jane Hinman
and Lowell Crouse. Also present was Association Manager Teri
Jennings. Excused from today’s meeting were President Greg Knop,
1st VP Patti McCoy, Directors Jerry Everett and Randy
Moore and Youth Representatives Aslynne Carriere, Kelly McPartland
and Patti Beck.
Loneman made the motion to
approve the
minutes of the previous meeting. Robinson seconded the motion. Motion
carried unanimously
Jacobson made the motion to
approve the
treasurer’s report as written. Carriere seconded the motion. MCU.
COMITTEE REPORTS
Certification
Committee:
MES AREA USBC
Carsrud gave the Certification
Committee report. He noted the Everett sent an email stating that
Jewell’s lane certification has been completed. Everett also said
that the lane dressing report was completed for 20th
Century Bowl and he should have the rest of the houses done shortly.
AMES AREA USBC
Cari
McPartland gave the Tournament
Committee report. The envelopes were being stuffed today for the
sponsor letters. She will email everybody a list of sponsors to call
and check with a week or two after the letters go out. There are 103
sponsor letters being mailed. She noted that the sign-up sheets that
were kept in each center will be reinstated and that there will be a
note on each saying that the spot is not guaranteed until payment is
received. It was decided that both houses would hold a smoking shift
the last weekend of the tournament.

Jennings gave the Youth Committee
report. She said fliers have been posted with the Youth Tournament
dates. Team will be held Nov 3 & 4 in Nevada, Doubles Nov 17 &
18 in Story City and Singles Dec 1 & 2 in Ames. There will also
be a Family Doubles tournament at Sports Bowl in February.

Robinson gave the Coaching and New
Members Committee report. This committee is responsible for the
Registered Volunteer Program that is to be effect Aug 08. See
attached report. C. McPartland made the motion that we pay mileage
and the $25.00 fee for the Registered Supervisor. Devore seconded
the motion. MCU. Hinman made the motion that the association do a
50/50 raffle in every league and our portion of the proceeds go to
the registered volunteer program to pay the supervisor and possible
to pay the fee for volunteers signing up for the program. Carriere
seconded the motion. MCU.

The next meeting will be the
Hall of
Fame meeting to be held at the American Legion in Nevada on Wednesday
November 14. The next board meeting will be Monday January 7th
at 7:00 at 20th Century.
