The Certification
Committee reported
that center certifications have been completed for 20th
Century, Sports Bowl, Carousel Lanes. It was also noted that because
Carousel Lanes had a change in address, USBC assigned them a new
center certification #30209. Axis Lanes in Jewell has been
inspected, but there are a couple of areas to be adjusted or fixed
prior to completion. Lane dressing tapes will be taken in the next
couple of weeks, which will satisfy our requirements for the season.

Tim Kadolph reported that
the By-laws
and Policy Manual committee met and proposed the following
changes in
the policy manual.
- They proposed that
Policy 3 in the policy manual which read (A) BA & WBA tournament
shall alternate between Ames & Nevada. (B) The youth tournaments

OLD
BUSINESS:
There
was no old business to conduct.
NEW BUSINESS
AMES AREA USBC
We discussed the Iowa State
USBC BA
Jamboree, Hall of Fame Banquet, 40 frame game and Axis Lanes. Jennings
brought up that we needed to start looking into the
Registered Volunteer Program, which will have to be in place by
8/1/08. The coaching committee will look into the program. Jennings
also brought up the Bowlers to Veterans Link mail in tournament and
asked the board members to take copies of the entry form back to
their houses and try and get the leagues to participate.
AMES AREA USBC
Robinson brought up the fact
that we
are having a problem getting a quorum present at the meeting and we
needed to do something about it. There have been a few people who
consistently miss meetings and we should try to get people who are
interested in working on the board to be here. We have decided to
try a Saturday morning meeting to see if maybe we can get more people
to attend.
AMES AREA USBC
The next meeting date was
set for Sat
Oct 27 at 9:00 in Story City at Carousel Lanes. (time changed later
to 8:30).
AMES AREA USBC
Knop adjourned the meeting
at 8:00
Respectfully submitted
Teri Jennings
