Board Minutes:
Meeting
called to order at
6:30 p.m. by President Mason. Roll call: Excused were Greg Knop, Tim
Kadolph, Randy Moore; absent were Wierson, Cerka, Huntrods, Green and
Walt Cottrill. All other board members and past presidents present.
Minutes
of the August 23
meeting approved as printed. Treasurer’s oral report approved.
Everett
reported as
chairman of the certification committee, noting that all lanes at
Nevada, Story City and Ames have been certified.
Hawkins,
chairman of the
9-pin committee, announced dates and times for the three 9-pin
tournaments this fall. Story City will be Oct. 16-17, Ames will be
Nov. 13-14 and Nevada will be Dec. 4-5.
Schoep
reported that the
USBC transition committee will meet for the first time on Oct. 3,
with ABC, WIBC and YABA from the Ames area all to attend.
Everett
also gave a report
on the new AABA website, noting that work continues on the site and
that new things are being added regularly. He hopes to scan the Hall
of Fame pictures into the site and also hopes to get the final
averages on the site. President Mason complimented him on the
progress and the looks of the site.
Discussion
was held
regarding delegates to the ABC and state conventions. Since there is
no legislation at the ABC convention, there are no restrictions on
how many can go. Motion by Jacobson, second by Hawkins, to allow up
to $625 per person, four maximum, for those attending the workshops.
Motion carried. Those who can and want to go are to let Schoep know
by our November 10 meeting, at which time we will formally pick our
representatives. We will also formally pick the state convention
delegates at that time.
Schoep
asked who were
bowling in leagues this year that were different than in the past,
and recorded them so that he could make out the assignments for the
ambassadors (league reps) for the season. Schoep also noted that ABC
is having a transition workshop in Des Moines Dec. 4-5, but he didn’t
think it would be necessary for our association to attend, as we hope
to have things well under way by that time locally.
Meeting
adjourned at 7:08
p.m.
