COMMITTEE
REPORTS:
Committee Reports-
1. Lane
Certification: Everett
reported that all houses have been certified. Two have been
submitted and two will be. Fees are still needed to be paid. The
lane dressings will be done in September. All the houses were good.
2. Budget &
Finance Committee: Carsrud reported that the committee met and
through much deliberation
came up with categories for the budget. Everyone had a copy of the
proposed budget, but there were obviously some corrections that
needed to be made before we could finalize it and vote on it. It was
felt that the Jamboree needed to be added and we had questions on the
donation amount and where that came from and we felt that there was a
typo in the dining expenses. (Reimbursement was also misspelled –
for Teri only, delete from minutes). It was proposed to change the
Policy Manual, effective for the 2008-2009 year to increase the
Association Manager’s salary from the current salary of $1,500.00
to $2,000.00. This increase would help cover the increase in fuel
prices. T. Carriere motioned and McCoy seconded. MCU
3. Bylaws &
Policy Manual
Committee: Robinson will schedule a meeting.
Green reported on the USBC
convention. Much of the discussion there was centered on the RVP and
bowling as a
high school sport.
OLD BUSINESS:
The ground breaking for
Perfect Games
in Ames was held 8/14/08. Jerry Everett, Doug Wood, and Keith
Hawkins attended. Perfect Lanes is scheduled to open April 2009.
NEW
BUSINESS:
- Iowa State USBC BA
Jamboree –
Spirit Lake: Entries and information was distributed to those
interested. The bowling and the banquet will be held October 4 and 5
at Corner Lanes in Spirit Lake and the workshop will be held at
Arrowwood Resort in Okobji.
- 9-pin: There
was a $.25 increase at
20th Century (K. McPartland noted that it was for leagues,
but they would be willing to take the extra money!), so it was
proposed to increase the entry fee by $1.00, increasing the lineage
and the prize fund by $.50 each, bringing the total fee for both
events to $15.00.
The next meeting will be at
9:00 am on
September 27 at 20th Century Bowling.
Meeting was adjourned at
7:15 pm.
Respectfully submitted
Terri Loneman
2nd Vice-President
