COMITTEE REPORTS

Association Tournament - C. McPartland reminded everybody that we have set the dates for the Association Tournament as Jan 17, 18, 24, and 25. The deadline for tournament entries will be Jan 2, 2009. Team event will be held at 20th Century in Ames and the Doubles/Singles event will be held at Carousel Lanes in Story City.

Lane Certification Committee: Everett set up times with the committee to do the lane certifications at 20th Century for Sunday July 27, 2008 and Sports Bowl for Monday July 28, 2008. He will contact Carousel Lanes and Axis Lanes and set up times to do their lane certifications

OLD BUSINESS:

Registered Volunteer Program: Discussed getting all the proprietors together and talking about the registered volunteer program so that everybody understands the new program and that as an association we are dedicated to doing it. We made sure that people understand that parents coaching from the spectator area aren’t required to be registered, but anybody coaching from the bowling area MUST BE a registered volunteer. Hawkins/Jennings are going to verify which center employees must be certified if the center decline to be a part of the registered volunteer program.

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Committee Assignments were handed out along with the information about each committee taken from the policy and procedure manual.

  2. League Liaison’s sign up sheets went around and the board signed up to be liaisons to the leagues in our association. Everybody was reminded that they need to visit their leagues so the secretaries and the bowlers know who to go to if they have any questions or problems.

  3. League Packets- We are going to ask for an email vote on whether to continue with the Secretary/Treasurer Refund Program. This program allows secretaries/treasurers to purchase computer software programs to be used for their leagues and then if they follow our guideline, get reimbursed 50% of the cost of the program at the end of the first season. We also decided that instead of printing up Final Average books for all the board members and all the leagues, we would put them on disk and distribute them that way. The bowling centers and tournament directors and any state offices that need them, would still be provided with hardcopies of the final average book

The next meeting will be on Tuesday August 26 at 6:30 at 20th Century in Ames .

Meeting was adjourned at 10:31 a.m.

Respectfully submitted
Teri Jennings
Association Manager
