Meeting Notes:
Meeting
was called to order by 1st VP Bryan Carsrud at 11:04.
Present were 3rd VP Terri Carriere, Story City VP Jo
Mortvedt, Nevada VP Cheryl Devore, Youth Rep Aslynne Carriere, and
Directors: Jerry Everett, Patti McCoy, Deb Robinson, Jarad Prescott,
Arden Schoep and Lowell Crouse. Excused were President Tim Kadolph,
2nd VP Terri Loneman, Ames VP Cari McPartland, Jewell VP
Eudene Lund, Youth Reps Kelly McPartland and Patti Beck and Directors
Kevin Holm, and Jane Hinman. Also present were Past Presidents Keith
Hawkins, Teri Jennings, and Greg Knop. Also present at the meeting
were AAUSBC members: Rick Hackett, Steve Brandl, Lyle Jennings, Kevin
Deal, Bari Blanford, Don Clawson, Jackie Crouse, Randy Robinson,
Kandi Burris, Shirley Bauge, Pat Kyle, Judy Unger, Katie Hoffman,
Justin Crouse, Kimberly Sewald, Ronald Sewald, Joan Black, Jackie
Flynn, Dick Lang, Lee DeVore, Ryan Helgeland, Ashley Jones, Brian
Howard, Brian Tibben , Alice Tibben, Ronald Sorem, Duane Flanders,
Diane Schoep, Steve Huntrod, Steve Bellin, Mick Tscherter, Derrick
Black, Terry Mason, Russ Cruse Sr., Dan Ring, Dan Hodnefield, Isaac
Hodnefield, and Jeff Heeren. We had 52 members present and had a
quorum.
The
minutes of the previous membership meeting were in the membership
meeting packet. Robinson made the motion to accept the minutes as
written, T. Carriere seconded the motion. Motion carried
unanimously. The minutes from the Feb 12th board meeting
were in the membership meeting packet. L. Crouse made the motion to
accept the minutes as written, Prescott seconded. MCU.
The
treasurer’s report was included in the packet. L. Crouse made the
motion to accept the report, K. Hawkins seconded motion. MCU.

Membership
Meeting- Prescott thanked the membership for attending the meeting and
also Sara Lee and Lowell Crouse for the Donations
NEW BUSINESS:

Iowa
State USBC BA State meeting report- Schoep presented the report. He
also noted that Lyle Jennings was presented with the Director of the
Year award at the state membership meeting. The rest of Schoep’s report
was included in the packet.

Ames Area
USBC Senior Tournament- We discussed hosting a senior’s tournament and
decided to have the senior’s tournament as a mail in tournament (like
the BVL and Bowl for the Cure state tournaments). Would allow seniors
to bowl in tournament during league times, would not have to be bowled
during a senior’s league, but can be bowled during any league.

Local
Association Charity tournament- We discussed having a mail-in
tournament and the board will decide which charity to donate the money
too. We discussed donating to the following charities: Blank Children’s
Hospital, Leukemia Foundation, Organ Donor Awareness and Alzheimer’s
association.
Nomination
of Officers and Directors: K. Hawkins presented the following for
nomination to the Ames Area USBC board of directors for the 2011-12
year: President Tim Kadolph, 1st VP Bryan Carsrud, 2nd
VP Terri Loneman and 3rd VP Terri Carriere. MCU. Ames VP
Cari McPartland. MCU, Nevada VP Deb Robinson MCU. Directors voted
in were Kevin Holm Lowell Crouse, Derrick Black and Kandi Burris. The
delegates to the WBA state meeting in Council Bluffs will be Teri
Jennings, Jo Mortvedt, Terri Carriere and Patti McCoy. Alternates to
the meeting will be Kandi Burris, Deb Robinson, Cari McPartland and
Terri Loneman. Crouse made motion to accept and Prescott seconded.
MCU. The delegates to the Open (BA) state meeting will be Teri
Jennings, Arden Schoep, Terry Mason and Keith Hawkins and the
alternates are Derrick Black, Lee Devore, Rick Hackett and Randy
Robinson. Crouse made the motion to accept and Blanford seconded.
MCU. Keith Hawkins will be our delegate to the National Convention.
Prescott made motion to accept and McCoy seconded. MCU.
Mick
Tscherter thanked the board for recognizing his wife in our Hall of
Fame.
Terry
Mason reminded all present about getting nominations into Jennings
for the Hall of Fame. There are so many of our members who should be
recognized and we need people to get the nominations in.
Assoc
Manager Jennings presented both President’s Kadolph’s remarks and
her remarks. Both reports are in the packet.
We
then discussed the association tournament and 9-pin tournaments
trying to see what could be done to make the tournaments better and
how to get more bowlers. It was suggested that we have a sponsor and
guaranteed money for the 9-pin tournament. It was also discussed on
where to host the tournament . The board will review and decide
where to hold the tournament in 2012. We appreciated all comments
and will discuss them in our board meeting.
