MEMBERSHIP MEETING
FEBRUARY 28, 2009
AMERICAN LEGION-STORY CITY, IA




Meeting Notes:

President Knop called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m.

Roll call of officers and directors was taken. Present were President Greg Knop, 2nd VP Terri Loneman, 3rd VP Tim Kadolph, Ames VP Cari McPartland, and Jewell VP Eudune Lund. Directors present were Jerry Everett , Patti McCoy, Deb Robinson, Terri Carriere, Jarad Prescott, Kevin Holm, Jane Hinman, and Lowell Crouse. Past Presidents Teri Jennings and Keith Hawkins. Excused were 1st VP Bryan Carsrud, Story City VP Jo Mortvedt, Nevada VP Cheryl Devore and Youth Rep Kelly McPartland, youth Directors that were excused were Aslynne Carriere and Patti Beck and Kelly McPartland. The following members were also present: Lyle Jennings, Steve Brandl, Ron Sewald, Landon Earles, Shirley Bauge, Randy Robinson, Brian Tibben, Ben Kadolph, Dwain Watts, Jeremy Earles, Bob Earles, Shirley Klonglan, Joan Black, Mike Black, Mike Neal, Don Clawson, Scott Anderson, Diane Schoep, Connie Smith, Jim Smith, Lowell Huggins, Bill Hess, Todd Spear, Dave Leeper, Martha Johnson, Kevin Deal, Bari Blanford, Candy Lawson, Ashley Jones, Katie Banks, Frank Davis, Bob Hunter, Terry Mason, Randy Moore and Arden Schoep. We had 50 members and directors present and had a quorum.

Minutes of the previous meeting and the treasurer’s report were approved.

Committee Reports::

Youth & Scholarship:  K. McPartland sent in his report and it was included in the membership meeting packet


Membership Committee: Knop thanked those who donated to our membership meeting- Burke Marketing, Sara Lee, Story City American Legion and Syngenta. Times for the next membership meeting were discussed and it was decided we would have a Saturday morning meeting again next year.

New Business:

  1. Election of Officers and Directors for the 2009/10 season. Elected for President for his final 1 year term was Greg Knop. Also elected for 1 year terms were 1st VP Bryan Carsrud, 2nd VP Terri Loneman, 3rd VP Tim Kadolph, Story City VP Jo Mortvedt, Ames VP Cari McPartland. Directors that were elected for 2-year terms are Deb Robinson, Lowell Crouse, Jane Hinman and Kevin Holm. Delegates for the Iowa State USBC WBA convention were Jo Mortvedt, Terri Carriere, Teri Jennings and Patti McCoy with the alternates being Deb Robinson, Joan Black, Shirley Klonglan and Jane Hinman. Delegates to the Iowa State USBC convention are Arden Schoep, Teri Jennings, Keith Hawkins and Greg Knop with the alternates being Jerry Everett, Jeremy Earles, Kevin Holm and Tim Kadolph. Elected as the delegate to the USBC National meeting was Keith Hawkins. There was no alternate elected to attend the meeting.
  2. President Knop gave his report, which is also in the membership meeting packet.
  3.  Association Manager Jennings gave her report, also included in the membership meeting packet.
  4.  C. McPartland then gave her AAUSBC tournament report which is in the packet. There was discussion on changing the tournament dates again. The committee will look at the tournament and will decide when and where to hold the 09/10 association tournament. Checks and award certificates were handed out and the Grand Prize winners from the tournament were drawn. The Grand Prize winners were: Scott Tscherter-Bowling Ball from Carousel Lanes, Mark Larson- Ball Bag from 20th Century, Linda Dobson- Security State Bank $50 Savings Bond, Bryan Carsrud- Bowling Ball from 20th Century and Dwain Watts Ball Bag from Carousel Lanes.


Loneman made the motion to adjourn the meeting and Hinman seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 11:52.
