COMMITTEE
REPORTS:
-
Tournament
Committee -
C.
McPartland reported
that we were able to secure $1,400 from sponsors, and 17 businesses
donated door prizes. She thanked everyone that assisted in securing
the donations, including Randy Moore. $208.50 was distributed in the
Instant Cash this year, of which $150.00 was donated. Donations for
the youth program were $211.71 and $863.50 was raised through the
50/50 raffle. There were 37 open teams, 7 women’s teams, 78 open
doubles, 12 women’s doubles, 154 open singles, 24 women’s
singles, 135 open all-events-handicapped, 21 open all-events scratch,
and 16 women’s all-events. These numbers were down from last year,
but the tournament being held earlier, people being busier and the
economic times were thought to play a part in that. Thank you notes
have been sent and Teri made gift certificates. Instead of spending
money on trophies, certificates and additional money will be given to
the winners. Various ideas were discussed to increase participation
in the tournament next year. Everett suggested that the tournament
be held during one week of the regular season. Another idea that was
suggested was to have the Hall of Fame presentation during the
Membership meeting.
