Secretary
Schoep announced that a quorum was present.
President
Mason told delegates that the sole purpose and only business to be
conducted at this meeting was to vote on whether or not to merge with
the local WIBC and YABA associations. He gave some background into
the feasibility study that had been conducted by a special committee
since last summer and told the delegates that the board had voted
unanimously to support such a merger. He said that each and every
aspect of the operation of each association had been looked at and
the committees agreed that there was no reason not to merge.
Motion
by Brian Harris, second by O.D. Green, that we approve the merger.
Mason asked for discussion from the floor, and after several
questions and statements were made, the delegates
unanimously voted
in favor of the merger.
Schoep
noted to the delegates that there might not be another delegates
meeting this spring, because if the other associations (WIBC and
YABA) pass their merger votes in the next two months, our ABC
Association will not be electing officers or conducting other
business, therefor there would be no reason to meet. A decision on
that will be made following the votes by the two other organizations.
