Council Of Delegates
Special Meeting
for Local USBC Merger

Board Minutes:

Meeting called to order at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room at 20th Century Bowling by President Terry Mason.

Roll call: All board members were present except Greg Knop and Dave Cerka (both excused) and Jerry Everett, Jack Wierson, Steve Huntrods and Howard Kyle. League reps present were Arlo Ledet (Ames Seniors), Jeff Nigh (Happy Ours), Tom Brekke (Iowa D.O.T.), Duane Swanson (Ames Merchants), Kevin Deal (Roundhouse), Steve Lewis (South 69ers), Darrill Abel (Southtown), Courtney Evans (ISU Bowling Club), Jim Mattke (Nevada Seniors), Lowell Huggins (Civic), Greg Ruopp (Leo Sutherland), Randy Robinson (Hooters Mixed), Dan Hawkins (Sunday Twilight Mixed), Jim Beck (Happy Hour), Alan Gossel (Pin Kings), Art Beck (Pin King Outcasts), Jon Hovick (Story City Sunday Mixed) and Darrel Stearns (Friday Night Mixed).

No representatives were present for the following leagues: Ames Classic, ISU Faculty, 3M A Crew, 3M B Crew, 3M C Crew, Nevada Merchants, and Thursday Leftovers.

Secretary Schoep announced that a quorum was present.

President Mason told delegates that the sole purpose and only business to be conducted at this meeting was to vote on whether or not to merge with the local WIBC and YABA associations. He gave some background into the feasibility study that had been conducted by a special committee since last summer and told the delegates that the board had voted unanimously to support such a merger. He said that each and every aspect of the operation of each association had been looked at and the committees agreed that there was no reason not to merge.

Motion by Brian Harris, second by O.D. Green, that we approve the merger. Mason asked for discussion from the floor, and after several questions and statements were made, the delegates unanimously voted in favor of the merger.

Schoep noted to the delegates that there might not be another delegates meeting this spring, because if the other associations (WIBC and YABA) pass their merger votes in the next two months, our ABC Association will not be electing officers or conducting other business, therefor there would be no reason to meet. A decision on that will be made following the votes by the two other organizations.

Meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
